18.5.23

Co-sponsored by S. Horowitz Institute for Intellectual Property

Keynote speaker: Prof. Peter K. Yu, Texas A&M University

Research cannot be taken for granted! Research operates under various constraints and limitations. The present conference sheds light on one facet on research; that relating to the Right to Research. The discussion here relates to both technology and data, as well as to intellectual property. Within this broad topic of discussion we shall consider the potential and pitfalls of this important right, we shall look at the optimization of the right to research within said constraints from various perspectives including data, contracts and the law. In this regard, we shall consider what is left of this right and how the law ought to approach issues relating thereto.
