May Har-Shai is a PhD candidate at the Buchmann Faculty of Law, Tel Aviv University, where she is supervised by Prof. Niva Elkin-Koren and Prof. Assaf Hamdani. Her research focuses on artificial intelligence and law, military technology transfer, and public–private governance.

May brings substantial practical experience from both the public and private sectors. She previously served as Legal Counsel at the Israeli Ministry of Defense and worked in the Cybercrime Department of the Israeli State Attorney’s Office. In the private sector, she was a Contracts and Tenders Specialist at a global MedTech company.

Her current research examines the regulatory challenges posed by AI-based military technologies and the evolving role of global technology companies in contemporary security infrastructures.
