Shamgar Center Researchers at the Wharton Accountable AI Conference

3.2.2026

Prof. Niva Elkin-Koren, director of the Shamgar Center for Digital Law and Innovation and Amit Haim, Research Fellow at the Shamgar Center, will participate in the Accountable AI Research Conference hosted by the Wharton Accountable AI Lab, to be held on February 6, 2026, at the University of Pennsylvania.

Prof. Elkin-Koren will present her research, Transparency by Middleware, which addresses blind spots in AI governance that arise from reliance on self-reporting mechanisms.

Amit Haim will present his research, Untangling Hybrid Decision-Making, examining the legal and regulatory challenges of hybrid human–algorithm decision-making.

Their participation in the conference reflects the Shamgar Center’s active involvement in the leading international discourse on accountability, transparency, and the governance of artificial intelligence systems.

A source of great pride for the Shamgar Center — congratulations and best of luck at the conference!
