The 2026 International AI Safety Report

The 2026 International AI Safety Report

The 2026 International AI Safety Report was launched today, marking an important milestone in the global conversation on AI risks, governance, and democratic resilience.

Drawing on the contributions of dozens of leading AI researchers and policy experts worldwide, the report charts rapid technological developments alongside emerging systemic risks, and highlights the institutional safeguards needed to address them.

The Shamgar Center for Digital Law and Innovation was pleased to engage with the report. We would like to thank Adv. Amit Ashkenazi for his thoughtful and substantive contribution on behalf of the Center, particularly his emphasis on the need to empower not only dedicated AI-focused regulators, but also “traditional” regulatory institutions, in order to harness AI responsibly and mitigate sector-specific risks.

We welcome this report as a valuable and accessible contribution to international AI policy discussions and encourage policymakers, regulators, researchers, and practitioners to engage with its findings.
